OVERVIEW
The Community & Leisure Services Department (CLS) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Policy
explains how we protect your privacy as a user of our services or as a visitor to our websites located
at: www.humboldt.ca and https://app.bookking.ca/humboldtpub
WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information refers to information that identifies you such as your name and address. At various
places throughout our websites you are asked to voluntarily provide us with personal information if you
wish to purchase products, you wish to obtain other services, or you wish to participate in a contest. The
following is a list of the ways that CLS collects personal information from you:
Online Surveys: In order to better understand our customers' needs, occasionally we may ask visitors on
our website(s) to provide us with personal information about their preferences about participating in
events, availability of programs, and accessibility of facilities.
Online Contests: From time to time, we sponsor games and sweepstakes online. To participate, we ask
for your name, address, and email address so we can notify you if you win. We may ask for other
information that pertains to the theme or topic of the game or sweepstakes itself. These online contests
are optional.
Helpdesk/Online Support: When you contact CLS by phone, we ask for your name and phone number.
When you contact us over by email, we ask for your name, phone number, and email address. We may
require further information in order to provide you with support.
**The BookKing server also offers technical support over the Internet, by email, and by phone. But in
most cases we will contact them on your behalf.
We retain your support history in order to provide faster and more accurate assistance. This information is
stored on an internal database which is only accessible by certain personnel and is password protected.
WHAT OTHER INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
CLS's website server(s) automatically collect the following non-personally identifiable information from
visitors of our site(s):
The Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer, which is a number automatically assigned to your
computer when you are surfing the Web; the IP Address of your Internet Service Provider; your browser
and platform type (e.g. a Netscape browser on a Windows platform); the date and time you access our
site(s); the sections of the website(s) you visit; as well as the pages read, images viewed, and certain
content that you download from the website(s). We do not link any of the above information with
information that is personally identifiable to you. This means that although your session on our website(s)
are recorded, you remain anonymous to us.
We collect this data in an aggregate format for a number of reasons. For example, the information about
our visitors' browsers tells us what kind of browsers we need to support. Other information lets us know
how many visitors come to our site and what sections are the most popular. In this way, we can
constantly update and revise our website to be more appealing for our visitors. We do not share this
aggregate data with third parties.

Our website may use "per-session cookies" on the pages of the CLS site(s). We may use per-session
cookies to facilitate any future online purchases of products. Cookies enable our websites to save and

Registrations, Memberships, or Facility Bookings. This use of cookies is optional and solely for your

HOW DOES CLS USE THE INFORMATION IT COLLECTS?
CLS uses the information that it collects to monitor user activity, to administer sweepstakes, and to
provide you with services that you request such as Membership reminders and payment receipts. We use
the information that we collect from online surveys to improve our products and our site.
Any other uses of your personal information that are not identified here will be disclosed to you at the time
of collection, and we will make all reasonable efforts to obtain your express consent for such other uses.
DO WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Within our organization, your personal information is accessible by certain CLS employees only on a
need-to know basis. It is stored on databases which are only accessible by our customer and support
personnel, and is password-protected.
CLS does not give, rent, or sell personal information about its customers to third parties.
However, in certain limited circumstances authorized by law, CLS may be required to disclose your
personal information. Information provided to other third parties is used only for the purposes stipulated
and is subject to strict confidentiality requirements. These parties may include:

agencies, in the event that we require verification of your credit information; Collection agencies, in the
event that we need to collect overdue accounts; Law enforcement agencies, in case we are required by
subpoena to provide such information to them; if CLS is ever involved in the sale or transfer of all or part
of its business, CLS may disclose your personal information to the purchaser, however, we would require
the purchaser to handle your personal information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy
Regulatory bodies, in the event that our system is subject to a compliance audit.
CLS's PARTNERS
CLS has a number of partners, whose websites you can access from our website. Although we
recommend them to you based on their reputation for providing safe and secure online purchasing of our
products, we make no warranty about their goods and services, the content on their websites, or their
protection of your personal information. This Policy does not apply to their activities and we encourage

CLS uses best efforts to comply with the Canadian Marketing Association's Code of Ethics and Standards
of Practice in its marketing to children and teenagers, and in its online contests.

and that we retain on file are secure from loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure,
copying, use, or modification. These security measures include appropriate technologies, such as
firewalls and fraud controls.

CLS makes all reasonable efforts to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act, and has devised a Code of Conduct to in respect of its handling of your personal

Accountability - We are responsible for personal information under our control and have designated
persons accountable for our compliance with the Code of Conduct.
Identifying purposes for collection of personal information - We shall identify the purposes for collection of
personal information at or before the time the information is collected.

Public Access Accounts - Although the name implies that your account is public, that is not the case.
What is means is that you now have access to your account online and can make changes and updates
to that account. You can also request a facility booking, renew memberships, enroll in lessons and
programs, and submit payments directly from your online account.
Openness about policies and practices - We shall make readily available to you specific information about
