The Town of Diamond Valley oversees one indoor arena and 3 outdoor ice surfaces. The Oilfields Regional Arena and the Outdoor Scott Seaman Sports Rink are available for rent, serving as ice surfaces during the fall/winter and as dry pad surfaces in the spring/summer. When reviewing the facility calendars, please be aware all reservations that show on the calendar are reserved or for public use as designated in reservation. If there are no bookings scheduled on the SSSR, this is open ice for anyone to use for FREE.

Please note that all booking requests for the Town of Diamond Valley arenas and rinks are subject to review and approval before finalization. Ice bookings are required to allocate a 15-minute gap between reservations to allow for ice resurfacing, all unused ice can be booked.

Upon submitting your request, you can expect a response within 48 hours from Monday to Friday.   • Helmet Policy:
  • Helmets are mandatory. No one is permitted on any ice surface without a helmet.
  • Notice to All Patrons
  • Verbal or physical abuse of arena staff will not be tolerated.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone under the influence or in possession of alcohol or any illegal substances. The offending person(s) can be asked to vacate the facility. Banning from the facility may result.

The Diamond Valley Municipal Campground is a great overnight base for day adventures into Kananaskis or enjoying all the amenities and fun activities the Diamond Valley area offers. We offer 18 sites of various sizes with (30 amp) and without electricity located in the heart of our Turner Valley community. Sites are available to reserve, or you can take your chances that one will be available on a first-come, first-served basis if unreserved on the day of your visit.

Our campground is centrally located near the pool, spray park, Sheep River, and downtown businesses, with easy day access to the wilds of Kananaskis. The Friendship Trailhead, a 3 km walking/biking path along HWY 22 that connects the historic Diamond Valley communities of Turner Valley and Black Diamond, is located in Millennium Park adjacent to the campground. There is always something to do and see while staying with us.

Site Notes:
  • 1, 16-18 are all non powered sites.
  • 1-5 are small sites of 25 feet located at the entrance of the campground
  • 16-18 back onto fenced/netted baseball diamonds, 1-5 have a fenced soccer field close by (all these sites are park at your own risk)
  • Electrical sites have 30 AMP power. You may require an adapter.

The Flare n Derrick Community Hall is located at 131 Main Street NE, offering a rustic and affordable space for hosting weddings, community events, workshops, markets and private banquets or meetings. The commercial kitchen is available to use on a daily basis depending on availability and can only be booked on weekdays unless it's short notice and the hall is not already booked for a weekend event.

All events hosted in the Flare n' Derrick Community Hall require proof of insurance and may require a SOCAN/RE:Sound fee

All liquor licences must be obtained through Alberta Gaming and Liquor and Cannabis Commission by the user group, if applicable

The Town of Diamond Valley has two soccer fields and two ball diamonds available for use and reservation by community groups and residents. Soccer fields are available at both Maplewood Park and behind the courthouse next to Dr. Lander Memorial Pool. The ball diamonds include Millennium Park, located behind the Flare n' Derrick next to Millennium Park and the Field of Dreams, located along HWY 22 and the Sheep River connecting Diamond Valley.

Facility Bookings & Requests

Ice/Dry Pad/Sports Field Rentals: Online requests will be approved Monday-Friday 8am-4pm excluding holidays.
Flare n Derrick Community Hall Rentals: Check online availability then fill in this request form.
Campground: Online booking available; bookings made over the phone, email or request form will be subject to a $10 admin fee

Payments

Payments cannot be rendered until you have received a confirmation email of your reservation. Please check junkmail if you have not received an email and add noreply@diamondvalley.town and bookings@diamondvalley.town to your safe senders list.

Insurance Requirements

Insurance is required for all Flare n Derrick Community Hall bookings as well as any special event, tournament, or organized league events held utilizing any Town facility/property. To obtain an insurance quote for your booking click here or visit your insurance broker.
